Climbing Technology Dron + – Ice Axe

Built for couloirs, classic slopes on north faces and ridges with mixed climbing: the Dron + from Climbing Technology. This ice axe can be used for walking, building a deadman anchor and for climbing.

The Dron + ice axe from Climbing Technology can do it all. It has a slightly curved shaft with a tapered handle, making it easy to drive it into the snow. When used as support on steep ascents, the Dron + fits nicely in the hand. Its hot-forged pick and adze are perfectly balanced in terms of weight: not too heavy to carry, but heavy enough to penetrate snow and ice with quite a bit of force!

You can use the ice axe to for front pointing in steep terrain as well. This is where the ergonomic handle gets high marks, as it offers excellent grip and sensitivity. The tapered handle makes it easy to hold onto, even when you’ve got thicker gloves on. The Dron + comes complete with the Drag Tour leash as well.
